Colorado Weather: Storm To Bring Snow, Rain After Record Highs
Several inches of snow and isolated thunderstorms are coming to Colorado this week after some cities were to see near-record highs.
DENVER, CO — Several inches of snow and isolated thunderstorms are coming to Colorado this week after some cities were to see near-record highs.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook Monday morning, saying much of the state would see unseasonably warm temperatures and dry conditions across the region Monday afternoon.
A red flag warning was in effect for the Palmer Divide area through Lincoln County from noon to 8 p.m. Monday, and a winter weather advisory was issued for the northern Gore and Park ranges from late Monday through noon Wednesday.

"Some cities may tie or break daily high records," the weather service said. "Widespread low humidities east of [the] Rockies will create fire
weather conditions mainly for the Palmer Divide and southeastern
plains this afternoon."
Dry conditions were expected to continue until Tuesday morning, when a storm system brings several inches of snow and slick roads in the mountains through Wednesday morning.

Rain showers and isolated thunderstorms were expected at lower elevations, including the Interstate 25 corridor and plains.
"However, temperatures will turn cold enough for some snow late Tuesday evening with perhaps a dusting in the grass around Denver and Boulder," the weather service said.
Some parts of the foothills and over the Palmer Divide could see 2-5 inches of snow, creating slippery and slushy roads.
The weather service warned of blustering northerly winds Wednesday across the plains east of the urban corridor, with 40 mph gusts possible.
A second storm system will likely dump more snow over the mountains Thursday night and Friday, with a chance of rain and snow showers at lower elevations.
