Dead Man IDed In Denver Barricade Standoff, Officer Shooting
The Office of the Denver Medical Examiner identified the man who allegedly shot two officers and set a house on fire Sunday.

DENVER, CO – The office of the Denver Medical Examiner on Tuesday identified the deceased man who held police at bay Sunday and allegedly shot two officers during a six-hour barricade.
Joseph Quintana, 35, was taken to Denver Health Medical Center after allegedly shooting at and injuring two Denver police officers and setting his home on fire in the 600 block of Inca Street. Police said Monday Quintana died of his injuries at the hospital.
A statement from the medical examiner's office identified Quintana and said an autopsy had been performed, but his cause and manner of death were still undetermined.

The incident began in the 600 block of Inca Street around 11:30 a.m. when officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area. Two officers investigating the call were shot in front of the house, allegedly by Quintana. The officers were dragged to safety by their fellow officers and taken to Denver Health Medical Center, police said.
Quintana then barricaded himself in the house for hours, then set the house on fire. Police ended up using tear gas and K9 dogs finally took the him into custody, while Denver Fire emergency workers were putting out the fire.

Police said Monday they would be interviewing other people involved in the incident for "at least a week."
The wounded officers with gunshot injuries were listed in fair condition on Monday, a police statement said. A third officer was involved in a crash while driving to the scene "with his lights and sirens activated," police said. He was treated and released from the hospital.
