Denver Ranks High For Millennials, Retirees: New Studies
Two new studies show Denver is among the top destinations for young hipsters and seniors.

DENVER, CO – Two national ranking studies released this week list Denver as a top destination for two different demographic groups: millennials as a place to visit and retirees as a place to move.
HomeToGo, a search engine for vacation rentals, ranked Denver number 29 in the top 50 for millennial travelers. The study ranked cities by multiple criteria, including how expensive it is to get there, nightlife hotness, "experience" and "instagram-ability."
Denver ranked highest in the categories of inexpensive airfares and food and drink, but lower on selfie-power. The number one-ranked tourist destination for millennials appears to be Miami, the study said, followed by Detroit, Michigan and Tampa, Florida.

“Millennials are the most travel-orientated generation in history. Living in an increasingly interconnected world, this age group are much more likely to take vacation days and spend disposable income on a trip than their predecessors,” said Spokeswoman Joanna Booth in a statement. As for retirees, Miami was also the top destination in an October survey of 2,000 Americans of all ages, asked to describe their "dream retirement" by Provision Living, a retirement community chain.

Denver scored third in the survey's "top cities to retire in," after Miami and San Diego, California but before NYC and Orlando, Florida. Boulder ranked number 16.
However, millennials were not on track financially to afford retirement community luxury, the survey showed, with 43 percent admitting they had "less than $5,000" saved for retirement.
