'Glamour-Shot Bandit,' 19, Accused Of Robbing 6 Denver Banks

Charges are being filed today against 19-year old Brianna Casias, 19, accused of robbing Denver banks and absconding with more than $16,000.

DENVER, CO – The Denver Distirct Attorney filed charges today against a 19-year-old woman accused of robbing six Denver banks.

Brianna Casias is accused of being the woman the Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Forcenicknamed "The Glamour Shot Bandit," because of the" flamboyant disguises she wore to conceal her identity," prosecutors said Friday. Prosecutors believe she was involved in robbing or attempting to rob eight Denver-area banks, with a total loss to the banks of $16,861, a press release said.

Prosecutors assert that between March 22 and May 8, 2019, Casias allegedly robbed or attempted to rob the following banks:

March 22: Vectra Bank, 3600 Quebec Street, Denver
April 1: Key Bank, 6405 E. Hampden Ave., Denver
April 5: Key Bank, 3410 E. 1st Ave., Denver
April 9: Liberty Savings Bank, 6460 E. Yale Ave., Denver (Attempt)
April 9: First Bank, 8901 E. Hampden Ave., Denver
April 9: TCF Bank, 18520 Green Valley Ranch Blvd., Denver
May 8: Bank of the West, 2050 S. Downing St., Denver (Attempt)
May 8: TCF Bank, 2690 W. Belleview Ave., Littleton, CO

During each alleged robbery attempt, Casias "never spoke but handed the bank teller a hand-written note demanding 100’s, 50’s and 20’s," the Denver DA's office said.

Casias is charged with five counts of robbery and counts of aggravated robbery, felony menacing, criminal attempt to commit robbery and tampering with physical evidence. The DA's office said Casias "engaged in a pattern of escalating violence" by "displaying a handgun and committing multiple robberies in one day."

She was arrested May 10, 2019 and is being held in the Denver jail on $100,000 bond.

Casias was observed to possibly have a male accomplice, according to an arrest affidavit by Denver police. The DA's office did not mention the arrest of any other person in connection with these bank robberies.

The investigation remains active, the DA's office said.
