How To Get Your Booster Shot In Colorado

Everyone ages 18 and older is urged to get a booster shot.

DENVER, CO — Every Coloradan ages 18 and older qualifies for a COVID-19 booster shot. Gov. Jared Polis signed an executive order earlier this month that declares our state as high-risk for transmission and expands booster eligibility.

Adults who are six months past their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two months past their Johnson & Johnson vaccine, are urged to get their vaccine.

Around 80 percent of COVID-19 hospitalizations are among the unvaccinated, officials said. Hospitals are also dealing with staffing shortages, and an influx of patients with other diseases and emergencies as Coloradans return to their normal lives.

"The data is completely clear and consistent: a third vaccine dose is necessary for stronger and lasting protection against COVID-19," Polis said after he received his booster shot in late October.

"It’s critical that Coloradans have more protection against this deadly virus. The Colorado data shows that we need to get our booster shots after six months."
