Maggie Rogers Comes To Denver

From TicketNetwork: DENVER, CO – Maggie Rogers will perform in Denver for two nights in April. Rogers is the singer-songwriter who can hear music in colors and wowed Pharrell Williams with a recording of her single "Alaska" in a 2016 New York University master class. The video went viral.

Rogers announced a national tour this spring and will perform April 9 and 10 at the Ogden Theater in Denver on her way to Coachella in Los Angeles.

Rogers' music draws from her rural roots in Eastern Maryland and were influenced by a trip to France, where she experienced Electronic Dance Music.

“Alaska”, performed for Pharrell Williams in a master class, so moved the performer that a video of him listening to the song racked up over 1 million views. This led to hundreds of thousands of plays of her previous recordings The Echo from 2012 (recorded in a makeshift broom closet) and Blood Ballet, released in 2014.

Rogers's work "...begs for listeners to confront deep personal emotions” according to EarToTheGround, a popular folk music blog.

Citing Björk, Carrie Brownstein, Patti Smith, and Kim Gordon as her inspirations, she confided to Williams that she has synesthesia, which is condition that allows the senses to be triggered by stimuli that is normally perceived by the other senses. In Roger’s case, she can perceive colors in response to hearing music.

Rogers has released three new singles, "Fallingwater", "Give a Little", and "Light On" that became part of her major-label debut album, released January 18, 2019, titled Heard It In a Past Life. She has also appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live.
