Man Arrested With Bloody Knife After Denver Stabbing
Robert Barros was IDed by witnesses as having stabbed a man on West Colfax Ave. during an altercation. He faces first degree murder charges.

DENVER, CO — Denver police said they had arrested a man suspected of stabbing another man during a fight on West Colfax Avenue Thursday.
Police on Feb. 1 said Robert Barros, Jr., 55, was taken into custody and faces first-degree murder charges.
Police said on Jan. 31 around 4:15 p.m., officers were summoned to 3636 West Colfax onthe report of a stabbing. A male with stabbing wounds was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

According to a police affidavit, witnesses said the victim had been arguing with another man, described as a Hispanic male with grey hair in his 60s. They told police the altercation got physical and the other man pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim. The man then fled northbound down North Meade Street, witnesses said.
Police searching the area found Barros in the 1500 Block of North Meade Street, the affidavit said. Barros had a knife on his person that was smudged with blood, as were his hands. He also had a red stain on his ear that resembled blood, police said.

Witnesses identified Barros as the man who they said stabbed the victim, police said.
Barros is being held in Denver County Jail on no bond.
