Man ID'ed In Denver 'Make My Day' Shooting Death
A 36-year-old man was shot and killed by a homeowner inside a house he was allegedly burglarizing in the 1400 block of Downing St Friday.

DENVER, CO – A 36-year-old man shot and killed by a homeowner Friday night during an alleged burglary was identified by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
Police tweeted around 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 that a shooting had taken place in the 1400 block of Downing Street. Rickie Casias was shot and killed, the medical examiner's office said. He was declared dead at the residence.
Police reported that the homeowner said he shot Casias when he refused to leave the property. Officers found Casias's body in the basement.

Police said the homeowner was cooperating with investigators, and no charges were pending.
Colorado's"Make My Day" law, passed in 1985, allows gun owners to be spared prosecution if they shoot and kill an intruder in self-defense. It's unclear whether this incident would fall into that category.
