Man Who Allegedly Shot Cop, Family Member, Charged In Denver
Elijah Ruff, 25, was charged with attempted murder and assault after a domestic incident in which he allegedly shot an officer and a woman.

DENVER, CO – A man accused of shooting at and wounding two people, including a Denver police officer, in the Villa Park neighborhood was charged by the Denver District Attorney's Office on Wednesday.
Elijah Ruff, 25, was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and multiple assault counts.
On Oct. 28, police responded to a family disturbance call around 3:30 a.m. in the 4800 block of West 1oth Avenue, according to an arrest affidavit. A female family member of Ruff's told police that Ruff had pulled out a gun during a verbal argument and that she pleaded with him not to kill her. She then fled the home, running "in a zig-zag pattern" as Ruff allegedly fired a handgun at her, striking her as she fled.

The injured woman was able to flag down a responding police car and told officers Ruff was armed. As officers approached the home, Ruff allegedly fired "several rounds" and hit female officer in the leg, causing what police described as "serious bodily injury."
Both women were taken to hospitals.

Ruff was arrested and taken to Denver County jail, where he has been held on $500,000 bail.
He is next scheduled to appear in court Friday, Nov. 2.
