Meet A Future Leader In Denver: Gabriel Trujillo

The future of Denver is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Gabriel Trujillo, who are making a positive impact in and around Denver.

Gabriel is a first-generation Latino graduate of Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) and earned a B.S. in psychology in May of 2024. He has overcome immense challenges to emerge as an extraordinary leader and advocate for his community. His determination and leadership earned him the 2024 Boettcher Student Leader of the Year Award from the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation and the Spring 2024 President’s Award from MSU.

At MSU Denver, Gabriel’s leadership roles included serving on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council and the Hispanic-Serving Institution subcommittee. He was also a student trustee and Auraria Campus advisory committee member.

“Gabriel’s … ability to connect, inspire, and effect change exemplifies the resilient spirit we aim to foster within our community,” said Jerome Davis, Executive Vice President of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and President of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation. “Gabriel’s contributions are not only remarkable but also a testament to the profound impact young leaders can have in shaping the future of our region.”

Gabriel is currently a program associate with the El Pomar Foundation, focusing on grantmaking and community engagement. Motivated by his family and a passion for lifting others, he aims to continue amplifying opportunities for those in need.
