Prudes Need Not RSVP — Chef Justin Cucci Expands Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox, New Menu
The schedule at Ophelia's Electric Soapbox is packed with shows now that the restaurant and venue has reopened with a larger dance floor.

DENVER, CO — This certainly isn't your mother's brunch spot, or your grandmother's historical preservation project. Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox, the self-described "boudoir-chic historical remix and Denver’s sexiest spot to indulge" is back open, with some enhancements.
Chef Justin Cucci, the restaurant's the owner, has revamped the menu in a vegetable-forward, local direction and renovated the space to the standard of national touring acts. Prudes need not RSVP.
The Victorian brownstone, former brothel and sex shop once hosted peep shows. Now, patrons can see big-name concerts thanks to a newly renovated downstairs area with more dance floor space, plus upgraded sound and lighting.

Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox is a part of the Edible Beats family of six restaurants —Linger, Ophelia’s, Vital Root, El Five, Root Down and Root Down DIA. The restaurant family is also known as the Lovers, according to the Edible Beats website, which notes "poly dining encouraged."
"We are so grateful that we get to finally unpack and unveil the updated and evolved version of Ophelia's," Cucci said in a news release. "It's time to plug in the electric soapbox, and kick out the jams and let it be. Ophelia's is still a thirst trap, a hunger trap, a raw flame, a live wire."

Vegetables are now the stars of Ophelia's menu, which offers global flavors with a focus on sustainability practices. But the so-called "gastrobrothel fare" still manages to infuse the suggestive spirit of the place into its menu, with section headings such as: "Foreplay and Teasers," "3rd Base" and "Happy Endings."
The restaurant is open with its regular menu Wednesday to Saturday, 5 p.m. to close, and also serves brunch with free live music on Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both menus have vegan and gluten-free options.
The bar also got a bit of a facelift, with bright, handcrafted cocktails, suggestively named and listed by color on the menu — French Kiss (Purple Drink), Burlesque (Green Drink) and NC-17 (Pink Drink), to name a few. The bar also offers a 24-tap draft line of Colorado beers.
Shows vary widely in price depending upon the act. Tickets for national acts often sell out, while some shows may even be free. Most shows are 21+ (occasionally 18+), with seating restrictions for guests under 21 and a mandatory wristband.
Be aware — dinner reservations do not provide access to the downstairs area or entrance to ticketed shows, and tickets for a concert do not include dinner or guarantee seating.
