Neighbors continue to protest Denver's last-minute change to Alameda Avenue safety project with new petition (denver7.com) — Neighbors in West Wash Park are rallying against Denver’s last-minute changes to the Alameda Avenue safety project, arguing the revised plan sacrifices traffic calming and pedestrian protections. Residents have gathered protests, collected more than 1,000 petition signatures, and appealed directly to Mayor Johnston, while Denver’s transportation department insists it is still listening and the redesign isn’t yet final.
   

2. Denver teen missing from Athmar Park neighborhood (denverpost.com) — A 15-year-old Denver boy, Michael Davis, is missing after he was last seen Thursday morning near the 700 block of South Lipan Street in Athmar Park. State investigators issued a Missing Indigenous Person Alert and say he is affiliated with the Athabascan tribe, wears glasses, and may still be in the Denver area. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or Denver Police.
   

3. 2 Denver sheriff deputies arrested on assault charges (9news.com) — Two Denver Sheriff Department deputies have been arrested by Denver Police and charged with third-degree assault of an at-risk adult, a Class 6 felony under Colorado law. Both have been placed on investigatory leave while the Public Integrity Division and Independent Monitor review the case. Denver residents can expect further scrutiny of jail operations as the investigation continues.
   

4. Denver Ranks Higher Than Most U.S. Cities for Singles in New Study (townsquarenoco.com) — Denver just landed fifth in WalletHub’s new ranking of the best U.S. cities for singles in 2026, and it ranks third nationwide for dating opportunities. The study weighs economics, fun, recreation, and dating prospects, with Denver outperforming Colorado Springs and nearby Aurora by a wide margin. For Denverites, it’s another sign the local dating scene is staying hot.
   

5. MSU Denver volleyball defeats Wingate, advances to first NCAA Division II Final Four (denvergazette.com) — Denver’s MSU Roadrunners volleyball team has punched its first-ever ticket to the NCAA Division II Final Four after a dramatic five-set comeback over Wingate. Riding a 21-match win streak despite losing a star player to injury mid-match, they now face undefeated top seed Tampa in Friday’s national semifinal.
