Significant Temperature Drops In Colorado Forecast For The Week

Temperatures in Colorado dropped significantly on Monday. Freezing temperatures are expected throughout the week.

DENVER, CO — Temperatures in the metro Denver area rose to 63 degrees on Sunday and 54 degrees on Monday before a cold front moved into the state, dropping temperatures to zero degrees as of Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

With windchill, temperatures in the area as of Tuesday morning were nearly 20 degrees below zero, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures, according to forecasting by KDVR, are expected to remain in the single digits through Wednesday and will remain below freezing for more than five days, finally rising sometime on Saturday.

Snowfall is expected to continue through Thursday, according to forecasting by KDVR, with Denver anticipated to receive about 3-4 inches, the Foothills expected to receive about 4-8 inches and the Southern Mountains and Western Slope ski areas slated to receive more than 2 feet.

This is due, KDVR said, to a combination of two storms and an Arctic Front.
