Mother, Father, Child Killed In Southwest Denver Triple Shooting
A young son escaped from the home as his family was being shot, police said. Bustaman Kartabrata, 59, is being held in custody.

DENVER, CO – Three family members, a mother, father and child, were killed Thursday night, May 23, in a shooting incident in southwest Denver, police said. A man is in custody, police reported Friday morning. A young boy escaped from the home during the shooting, police said.
Police said they received a call at around 9:30 p.m. A woman was found dead at the scene near the intersection of South Golden Way and West Columbia Place. A female child and an adult man were taken to a nearby hospitals, where they later were declared dead, police said in a tweet. Another adult was also found injured on the scene.
Bustaman Kartabrata, 59, was taken into custody after tips and being traced through his vehicle, a police spokesperson said Friday. He is being investigated for first-degree murder. The house had recently been sold, a police spokesman said. The suspect and the family were "very well-acquainted and knew each other," he said. No motive was given for the shooting. A juvenile son escaped from the home unharmed, the spokesman said.

UPDATE: 1 adult female victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. 1 adult male and 1 juvenile female were transported to a nearby hospital where they were pronounced deceased. 1 adult male suspect is in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
