West Colfax Stabbing Victim IDed In Denver
A 48-year-old man died of stab wounds after an argument turned physical, police said. Robert Barros, Jr. is being held on murder charges.

DENVER, CO – The man who died on West Colfax Avenue after being stabbed allegedly during an argument was identified Monday by the Office of the Denver Medical Examiner.
Dwaine Nees, 48, was identified as the man who died after being found with stab wounds the afternoon of Jan. 31.
Police said around 4:15 p.m., officers were summoned to 3636 West Colfax on the report of a stabbing. Nees was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Denver police arrested Robert Barros, Jr., 55, later that evening in the 1500 Block of North Meade Street, the affidavit said. Barros had a knife on his person that was smudged with blood, as were his hands. He also had a red stain on his ear that resembled blood, police said.

Barros is being held in the Denver County jail on $100,000 bond, facing charges of first-degree murder, according to the online jail roster.
