Who Killed Richard 'Panic' Young? No Leads At 1-Year Anniversary

The "well liked" man was found murdered behind the Regis Motel at East Colfax Ave. and Valentia St. Police still have not solved the murder.

DENVER, CO –Richard "Panic" Young, 50, was found with a fatal gunshot wound behind the Regis Motel at 8282 E. Colfax Ave. one year ago, and police still have no leads on who his killer was.

Denver police and Metro Denver Crime Stoppers again asked for help identifying the people responsible for Young's murder. A $2,000 reward is still in place for information leading to the arrest of Young's killer.

Young was found behind the hotel in the early hours of Feb. 6, 2018 and died at the scene, police said.

"Mr. Young was known to frequent this area and was well thought of by many along the E. Colfax corridor," police said in a statement on Feb. 6.

Police said many witnesses have been interviewed, but no arrests have been made and no suspect has been identified.

Anyone with information on the shooting, or on a possible suspect, is asked to call police at 720-913-7867. A reward up to $2,000 may be available for information leading to solving the crime.
