Winter Storm Advisory: Snow Blast During Metro Denver Rush Hour

"Hazardous driving conditions" for the Friday evening rush hour in metro Denver are predicted by the National Weather Service.

DENVER, CO – A heavier-than-predicted snowstorm will snarl up metro Denver's evening rush hour Friday evening, the National Weather Service said. The weather agency said "moderate to heavy snow showers" will develop over the Front Range into this evening.

The evening rush hour could have "hazardous traveling conditions," the NWS said. The heaviest snowfall amounts in the mountains are expected to be along and south of the I-70 corridor.Farther east, snow will begin this evening lasting through Saturday morning.

Snow likely, mainly after 5 p.m. Areas of fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Friday Night

Snow, mainly before 2 a.m. Low around 20. North wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
