Winter Weather Advisory For Metro Denver, Boulder County

The National Weather Service expects 2-5 inches of snow, starting Friday afternoon.

DENVER, CO — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory across metro Denver, Boulder, the foothills to the west and the Palmer Divide. The advisory will take effect Friday from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m.

Weather officials expect 2-5 inches of snow to accumulate across metro Denver, with wind gusts as high as 25 miles per hour, the alert said. The snow is expected to cause slippery roads in the early afternoon, and conditions will likely worsen after sunset when the rate of snowfall increases and temperatures decrease, leading to more treacherous travel conditions.

"Roads will likely become slick and hazardous after sunset," the alert said. "The hazardous road conditions are expected to impact the Friday evening commute. Slow down and use caution while traveling."
