Here are the top stories today in Denver:
- A teenage girl who was shot in a domestic violence incident in southwest Denver has died, police said. A man and a child who were injured in the shooting are expected to survive. The suspect, a young man, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police. (Denver Patch)
- Two 11-year-old Amur tigers at the Denver Zoo tested positive for the coronavirus after they were seen coughing, sneezing and acting lethargic, the zoo said. The tigers' symptoms appear to be improving, and no other zoo animals show signs of infection, officials said. (Denver Patch)
- Two Denver agencies released a draft proposal for a new policy that would allow around 42,000 households to qualify for subsidized housing. (FOX31 Denver)
- The New York Times compiled a list of the top 50 places to eat across the country and two Colorado restaurants made the cut. The first is Boulder-based, "Frasca Food And Wine," a 17-year-old Italian restaurant. The second restaurant is Denver's "Incubator," which the Times writes has a mission of training women refugees and immigrants in the industry. (Denver Patch)
- As the U.S. braces for winter and flu season, the national COVID-19 vaccination effort is as urgent as it ever has been. So far, an estimated 187,714,829 Americans have been fully vaccinated, or 57.4 percent of the U.S. population.
