22 Years For Lakewood Bus Stop Stabbing
Marvin Luna-Lovo, 29, was sentenced to prison time for stabbing an 18-year-old in the neck in Lakewood.

GOLDEN, CO – A man was sentenced in Jefferson County District Court Monday for stabbing another man in the neck as the victim waited for a bus.
Marvin Luna-Lovo, 29, was sentenced to 22 years in prison for the attack on an 18-year-old man in Lakewood, the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office said Tuesday.
Prosecutors said on Sep. 12, 2017, the 18-year-old victim was sitting at a bus stop and listening to music near the Lakewood Police Department. Luna-Lovo walked up to him, lunged at him, and stabbed him twice in the neck, a statement from the DA's office said. The victim was trying to fight him off when a Lakewood police agent drove up in a squad car. Luna-Lova ran but he was arrested minutes later, prosecutors said.

Luna-Lovo had previously been deported to El Salvador, the DA's office said, but had returned to the U.S.
When asked by police if he was trying to kill Williams, Luna-Lovo told them "there was no other reason why anyone would try to stab someone other than to kill him," the DA's office said.
