3 Men Charged In Homicide, Burning Of Woman's Body

The body of Cymon Duran, 28, mother of two, was found in Golden Nov. 5 near a small brushfire. She had been shot multiple times.

GOLDEN, CO – Three men appeared in Jefferson County Court Friday in connection with the homicide of a woman whose body was found in Golden near a brushfire last week, the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office said.

All three were charged with multiple counts. Abel Gallegos, 35, was arrested Nov. 8 and was charged with first-degree murder, tampering with a deceased human body, drug possession, arson and other charges. Alonso Quintana, 27, was arrested Nov. 11 and was charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, aggravated intimidation of a witness and possession of a weapon by a previous offender. Rene Rosales, 35, was taken into custody Nov. 9 and was charged with accessory to first-degree murder, tampering with a dead body and arson.

Bond of $250,000 was set for Rosales Friday. Gallegos and Quintana are being held without bond.

The body of Cymone Duran, 28, was found in Golden Nov. 5 around 1:30 a.m. near Nile Street and West 7th Avenue. Duran had been shot several times before her body was set on fire, the sheriff's office said.

Duran was a married mother of two daughters, and remembered by her family as "outgoing, loving, beautiful, and sassy," according to her obituary.

The arrest affidavits for Gallegos, Quintana and Rosales were sealed by the court, so no further information was available. It was unclear if there was any relationship between the murdered woman and the men accused of killing her.
