Cop Under Child Porn Cloud Tried To Flee To Taiwan: Police

David Delaney, 28, a Red Rocks Community College police officer, faced sexual exploitation of a child charges, Golden Police said.

GOLDEN, CO ­— A community college police officer, under investigation in a child pornography case, was arrested by Golden police at Denver International Airport as he tried to leave the country, police said.

On July 3, the Golden Police Department started a criminal investigation into a possible child pornography case after receiving information from another law enforcement agency, police said in a press release. David S. Delaney, 28, a Red Rocks Community College police officer, was identified as the primary suspect, police said. Delaney was immediately put on administrative leave at the college.

On Sept. 23, police were tipped that Delaney was about to flee the country by flying out of Denver International Airport (DIA) to Taiwan, police said. A warrant was obtained and police arrested Delany for alleged sexual exploitation of a child before he boarded his plane. He was booked into Jefferson County jail.

Tuesday, Delaney posted a $60,000 bond and is awaiting a GPS tracking device, Golden police said in a statement. The court has ordered the Golden Police Department to keep Delaney’s passport. The court also ordered Delaney to have no internet access and no travel out of the state without permission of the court.

Messages left for Red Rocks Community College Police Chief Sean Dugan were not immediately returned.
