Child Porn Allegations: More Details About RRCC Cop's Arrest
Searches of David Delaney's home and workplace turned up disturbing images, prosecutors allege.

GOLDEN, CO – David Delaney, who worked for a year as a Red Rocks Community College police officer, had computers and devices at work and home containing child porn images, prosecutors alleged in court documents this week.
More details were revealed in the alleged child pornography charges in Jefferson County District Court for Delaney, 28, who was arrested Sept. 23 at Denver International Airport as he attempted to flee the country by boarding a plane to Taiwan, which has no extradition agreement with the U.S., prosecutors said.
The investigation began in early July, when Golden police were tipped by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office that an internet torrent file containing more than 30 images of child porn was traced to an IP address in Golden, a police affidavit said. After a court order for records, internet provider Comcast identified the IP address as registered to Delaney in an apartment at 18218 W. 3rd Ave. in Golden.

A judge issued a search warrant July 30 and police searched the apartment. Delaney was not at home. His roommate said he was out of the country visiting the Philippines. The roommate denied all knowledge of child pornography and allowed his own phone and computer to be searched, the police affidavit said. Meanwhile, police found a video file on Delaney's computer that contained pornographic content with a child.
The FBI also assisted in the investigation, the affidavit said, and agents recovered more images. A second warrant search was conducted of Delaney's apartment.

Images and videos recovered from Delaney's computers showed young girls in various stages of undress posing pornographically and performing sex acts with men and each other, the affidavit said.
On Aug. 6, Delaney re-entered the country from Manila, Philippines via LAX International airport in Los Angeles. Local police with a warrant seized a Toshiba laptop and cell phone in Delaney's possession. Child porn images were found on the laptop, the affidavit said.
On Aug. 6, Delaney was placed on administrative leave from the Red Rocks Community College police force. Delaney was hired by RRCC in the summer of 2017, the affidavit said. Two thumb drives were recovered from Delaney's desk at RRCC. After a warrant was issued, police found "various images of child pornography" on the thumb drives.
A Homeland Security Investigations agent tipped Golden police that she had received an alert that Delaney had booked a flight to Taipei, Taiwan for Sept. 23. He was taken into custody that day facing charges of alleged sexual exploitation of a child.
Delaney appeared in Jefferson County District Court Sept. 25 and posted $60,000 bond. He was ordered to wear a GPS tracking device and surrender his passport to Golden Police. We was also ordered to have no internet access and no travel out of the state without permission of the court., Golden police said in a statement.
Delaney appeared in court Thursday to be charged with sexual exploitation of a child.
