Golden Homicide: 3 Arrested, Charged With Burning Woman's Body

GOLDEN, CO – Three men were arrested in connection with the homicide of a woman whose body was found in Golden near a brushfire last week, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

Abel Gallegos, 35, was arrested Nov. 8 and is facing charges of first-degree murder, tampering with a deceased human body and arson. Alonso Quintana, 27, was arrested Nov. 11 and faces charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and aggravated intimidation of a witness and possession of a weapon by a previous offender. Rene Rosales, 35, was taken into custody Nov. 9 and faces charges of accessory to first-degree murder, tampering with a dead body and arson.

Pleasant View firefighters responding to reports of a brushfire Nov. 5 around 1:30 a.m. found the burnt body of Cymone Duran, 28, near Nile Street and West 7th Avenue in Golden. Duran had been shot several times before her body was set on fire, the sheriff's office said.

Duran was a married mother of two daughters, and remembered by her family as "outgoing, loving, beautiful, and sassy," according to her obituary.
