Golden Time Capsule: Artifacts From 1968 To Be Revealed Sunday
The city will open a 50-year time capsule buried in 1968 and replace it with one to be opened by "the people of 2068."

GOLDEN, CO – The City of Golden and staff from the Golden History Museum & Park will open a 50-year-old time capsule, buried in 1968, and will reveal its contents on Sunday.
Golden's time capsule tradition began in 1918 when Golden residents buried the first capsule, on Nov. 11, 1918, in honor of the end of World War I, and asked that it be opened by the people of 1968.
The next generation held a celebration on Nov. 11, 1968 at 11 a.m. They then buried another capsule for those of us in 2018, the city said in a press release.
