Golden Trailer Homicide Suspect Pleads Guilty To Utah Murder
Austin Boutain's plea deal in the murder of a University of Utah student protects him from the death penalty.

SALT LAKE CITY , CO — A man accused of killing a Golden resident, then stealing his truck and guns, fleeing to Salt Lake City and and gunning down a Chinese student, pleaded guilty to murder and kidnapping charges.
Austin Jeffery Boutain, 24, entered guilty pleas Wednesday in Utah for an agreement that would avoid a possible death penalty. He was sentenced to life without parole.
Austin Boutain, and his wife, Kathleen Elizabeth Rose Boutain, 23, were accused of carjacking a vehicle owned by Chenwei Guo, a University of Utah student from Beijing, and then killing him in October of 2017.

Kathleen Boutain is charged with criminal solicitation and theft, the Associated Press reported. She has not entered a plea.
The two were drifters who showed up in Golden before they went to Utah. The Boutains allegedly got into an argument with 63-year old Mitchell Bradford Ingle while staying in his RV trailer at Clear Creek RV Park, 1401 10th St. Bradford was murdered and the Boutains are accused of stealing his pickup truck and several guns and making their way to Salt Lake City.
