Forgotten Colorado History: The College Rivalry That Involved Dynamite, Kidnappings, and Explosions (k99.com) — A century ago, Golden’s Colorado School of Mines students were at the center of a notoriously wild rivalry with Denver University that involved dynamite blasts and retaliatory kidnappings. The story recounts how Mines students bombed DU’s campus, then DU students stormed back to Golden, abducting and humiliating rivals before both schools finally called a truce.
