Nominations Due For Golden's Mayors Awards of Excellence
The Mayor's Awards of Excellence puts the spotlight on people and organizations that improve the city and Colorado School of Mines
GOLDEN, CO – Time is running out to nominate an inspiring person or organization for the Mayor's Awards of Excellence, which will be bestowed for the eighth year by Golden’s Mayor Marjorie Sloan.
The awards will be handed out at the Mayor’s Community Celebration, takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at the Colorado School of Mines Campus Student Center, 1620 Maple St. Golden.
This year, the community will hear from inspirational speaker John O’Leary, injured in a fire as a child, who provides an example of survival and hope.

Judges for the Mayor's Awards of Excellence are seeking nominations for individuals and/or businesses and organizations who have made "exceptional contributions to the Golden community at large." The Gold Mine award celebrates contributions made to the betterment of the Colorado School of Mines within the Golden Community. The deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21.

- Submit your nomination online for the Individual or Business/Organization Award and the Gold Mine Award, or
- Email nominations to Carly Lorentz at clorentz@cityofgolden.net, or
- Deliver your nomination in person to City Hall, 911 10th St., Attn: Carly Lorentz
