'Superheroes' Sought In JeffCo For Good News Breakfast 2019

Nominations are open for 10 Jeffco residents to be honored at the 29th Annual Good News Breakfast for improving the community.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO – Do you know a "superhero" who's done something amazing for others in Jefferson County? The 29th Annual Good News Breakfast steering committee is seeking nominations for individuals or groups to be honored at the Jefferson County fairgrounds in April.

This year’s theme is “Unsung Heroes: Super Heroes Don’t Always Wear Capes.” Groups or individuals who could be described as “unsung heroes” because of their "commitment, courage and/or dedication to impacting the lives of Jefferson County residents in a significant way," should be brought to the committee's attention, a press release said. The nomination can be inspired by "one courageous event or incident, a program, or other example of service to others."

The committee evaluates the nominees with the following criteria:

  • Made noteworthy contribution(s) to improve the quality of life of others;
  • Improved and/or positively affected the lives and living conditions of individuals in our community; and
  • Went above and beyond to make a difference in their community and inspire others to give back.

Ten honorees will be recognized at the Good News Breakfast held on Tuesday, Apr. 30, 2018, at 7 a.m., at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 15200 West 6th Avenue, in Golden.

The event is organized by volunteers from business, human services, faith community, education, and government agencies and traditionally draws over 500 people.
