Test Alarm In JeffCo & Broomfield Tuesday: Code RED Scheduled
Don't Panic! It's just a test of the JeffCom 911 emergency notification system.

JEFFERSON & BROOMFIELD COUNTIES, CO – If you get a call from a law enforcement agency on Tuesday morning, Dec. 11, don't panic. Jefferson and Broomfield counties will be testing their emergency notification system with a "reverse 911" alert through the Jeffcom 911 system.
Starting at 9 a.m., the CodeRED emergency notification system will begin making test notifications on all landlines, as well as registered cell phones and emails. This process is expected to take several hours due to the large number of notifications, the JeffCo sheriff's office said in a press release.
The CodeRED system is a way of contacting citizens during "critical incidents," the sheriff's office said. Examples of CodeRED notices might be evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices and missing child reports, according to the system's website. Residents can also ask to receive severe weather notifications.
