1. Local nonprofit ‘Gift of Love' seeks new location to expand services (kjct8.com) — A Grand Junction nonprofit that assembles care packages for unhoused neighbors, seniors, foster kids, and NICU families is searching for a larger, more accessible location in town. Gift of Love hopes to add dedicated rooms for food, clothing, and assembly, plus a “Cup of Love” coffee shop to fund its work, and is asking residents for help with space ideas, donations, and volunteering.
   

2. CMU proposes updated athletic complex that preserves Lincoln Park Barn (kjct8.com) — City leaders and Colorado Mesa University are weighing a new athletic complex at Stocker Stadium that would keep the historic Lincoln Park Barn’s exterior while transforming its interior for CMU football. The plan would rely on city-leased land, shift some barn services to the future Community Recreation Center, and aims to avoid extra taxpayer costs as negotiations continue.
   

3. County Commissioners approve chicken barn over objections of neighbors (gjsentinel.com) — Mesa County commissioners have approved a 20,000-chicken barn just north of Grand Junction, overruling health and odor concerns from nearby Rosebud Estates residents. Officials said the 140-acre, agriculturally zoned property meets county code and doesn’t qualify as a confined feeding operation, while the owner argues it will support local, sustainable agriculture and use chicken waste as fertilizer on surrounding cropland.
   

4. Mesa County Celebrates US 6 Clifton Project Completion (junctionnow.com) — Mesa County has finished major safety and traffic upgrades on the US 6 corridor through Clifton, improving roundabouts, pedestrian access, and local connectivity just east of Grand Junction. Officials say the redesigned roadway should reduce crashes, ease congestion, and better serve nearby neighborhoods and businesses for decades, with work on 32 1/2 Road helping keep disruptions to a minimum during construction.
   

5. Colorado gas prices drop, among lowest in the nation (westernslopenow.com) — Drivers in Grand Junction are paying about $2.77 per gallon for gas, higher than the statewide average but still well below national prices. AAA says intense competition along the Front Range is dragging Colorado’s average down, and Grand Junction could see another 10-cent drop before prices likely rise above $3 again by spring.
