Man arrested traffic stop yields nearly 4 grams of meth, check not belonging to him (westernslopenow.com) — Grand Junction police arrested a 44-year-old man after a Saturday night traffic stop near North Avenue and 29 1/2 Road led to the discovery of suspected meth, paraphernalia, and a check not in his name. He was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the warrant and multiple new charges while the investigation continues.
   

2. Colorado Bustang offers an alternative to holiday air travel from Grand Junction (kjct8.com) — If you’re trying to get out of Grand Junction for the holidays without paying steep airfares or driving icy roads, Colorado’s Bustang bus is running from downtown and the airport to major Colorado cities for as little as $7. CDOT highlights it as a safe, low-cost option with WiFi and restrooms that many Mesa County residents are already using to ease holiday traffic.
   

3. New flu variant spreads during Christmas travel week in Mesa County (kjct8.com) — A new flu variant is hitting Grand Junction and the rest of Mesa County hard this Christmas travel week, with local hospitalization rates higher than the state average. Health officials here link the spike to vaccine hesitancy and winter social habits, and they’re urging residents to get vaccinated, stay home when sick, and keep shared surfaces and hands clean.
   

4. Disturbance, White Ave & N 1st St (junctionnow.com) — Police responded Monday evening to a reported trespass at the Downtown Suites on White Avenue in Grand Junction after someone knocked on a door and balcony glass. Officers tracked a woman seen jumping between balconies, warned residents to stay inside, and ultimately took her into custody without injuries, though radio traffic mentioned concern about a possible firearm.
   

5. Montrose, GJ have lowest flight delay times in state. Aspen ranks poorly nationwide. A new analysis of federal data shows Aspen and Gunnison struggle far more with delays, while statewide averages still exceed Grand Junction’s performance.
