Child Abduction Report Unfounded: Lakewood Police
Police investigation found no evidence to corroborate reports that a child was taken from outside Lasley Elementary School in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, CO – Lakewood police said Wednesday that a possible child abduction near Lasley Elementary School was a false alarm.
Police said around 12:10 p.m the officers responded to the area of South Kendall Street and West Florida Avenue near Lasley Elementary school.
Police said students reported seeing a young girl "possibly taken from a sidewalk near the school in an unknown vehicle," a statement from the department said.

But after an investigation, the department determined that "No crime has been substantiated," police said.
Investigators determined that all students were accounted for at Lasley Elementary and the surrounding Jeffco schools. Officers also conducted a door-to-door canvas in the area.
