Jefferson County 2021 Election: Ballot Return Report, Deadlines

Here's the latest ballot breakdown by party in Jefferson County, and information about voting and deadlines.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — More than 40,000 ballots have been returned so far in Jefferson County ahead of the Nov. 2 election, officials announced Monday.

Ballots are coming in by drop box and mail, said George Stern, the county's clerk and recorder.

"Thank you to everyone who has voted early," he said in a county elections update. "Remember: The earlier we get ballots, the sooner we have results on Election Night."

Ballot Return Report:

  • 13,486 from Democrats
  • 11,921 from Republicans
  • 14,735 from unaffiliated voters
  • 377 from minor party voters

Monday is the last recommended day to return your ballot by mail, and also the last day that the Jeffco elections team can send you a replacement ballot by mail — the office's contact information can be found here.

The first round of vote centers have now opened — services include accessible voting equipment, voter registration or changes, replacement ballots and of course, in-person voting. Vote center locations and wait times can be found here.

Important Election Dates

  • Monday, Oct. 25: Last day to return your ballot by mail to ensure it arrives in time, and first day in-person vote centers are open.
  • Nov. 1: The Jeffco Clerk and Recorder's Office will take voters' questions and give them a front-row seat to the county's ballot processing center via a Facebook Live video tour at 1 p.m., officials said.
  • Nov. 2: Election Day. You can use any drop box up until 7 p.m., or if you need additional services (registering to vote, getting a replacement ballot, etc.), you can use any vote center up until 7 p.m. as well.

In past elections, Jeffco has had some of the highest ballot return rates in Colorado, and the county is already ahead of many others so far ahead of the Nov. 2 election.
