Man Gets 24 Years For Lakewood Robbery Shooting Incident

Dominic Pacheco-Donelson was sentenced in JeffCo for providing a gun used in a botched April robbery that left a man wounded.

GOLDEN, CO – A man who was part of a trio accused in an April botched robbery, in which a man was shot in the chest, was sentenced to prison this week in Jefferson County District Court.

Dominic Pacheco-Donelson, 24, was sentenced Nov. 5 to 24 years in prison for his role in the incident, in which a 24-year-old man was at close range, near his apartment. Pacheco-Donelson was facing his sixth felony conviction and had provided the gun allegedly used in the shooting while on federal parole for gun trafficking, the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office said Thursday.

On April 4, 2018, Lakewood police responded to reports of a shooting at the Safeway at West 14th Avenue and Garrison Streets. They found the victim with a gunshot wound through his shoulder.

According to prosecutors, Pacheco-Donelson, Damon Porter and Yazmine Hunter were driving in a stolen car when they followed the victim into the parking lot of his apartment complex.

Pacheco-Donelson was driving, the DA's office said. Porter and the Hunter approached the victim when he got out of his vehicle. Porter pointed a gun at him, and demanded his property, an arrest affidavit said. Porter grabbed the man's phone and demanded his keys. The victim did not see the gun at first and refused to give Porter his keys. Porter shot him in the chest from two feet away, prosecutors said. Porter and Hunter got back into the car and the trio left the area.
