Wildfire Burns On South Table Mountain, Now Contained

Smoke can still be seen in the area after a fire reached between 3 and 5 acres, officials said.

GOLDEN, CO — A wildfire that started early Monday morning on South Table Mountain is now fully contained, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

The wildfire reached more than 3 acres by 5 a.m., but was fully contained by 6:20 a.m., the office said.

Multiple agencies were called to help battle the fire, which was burning near the CoorsTek plant. No structures were threatened, officials said.

Firefighters will remain at the burn site throughout the day to put out any hotspots.

The cause of the wildfire has not yet been determined.
