Five hospitals have been ranked the best in Connecticut ​in a new report from Newsweek.

CONNECTICUT — Five hospitals have been ranked the best in Connecticut in a new report from Newsweek.

Yale New Haven Hospital is the top-ranked hospital in Connecticut in Newsweek and data partner Statista’s America’s Best In-State Hospitals 2025 ranking of more than 700 medical centers nationwide.

The top hospitals, listed in ranked order, include:

  1. Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven
  2. John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington
  3. Midstate Medical Center, Meriden
  4. Hartford Hospital, Hartford
  5. Griffin Hospital, Derby

The 2025 best in-state hospitals list features medical facilities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The hospitals were ranked based on quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and national surveys, including:

  • The American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, an online nationwide survey among medical professionals;
  • Results from Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems patient-experience surveys; and
  • Voluntary implementation surveys on PROMs (patient-reported outcome measures).
