The Board of Directors recently awarded 32 more Community Grants to local organizations. These were the second set of Community Grants announced during the foundation’s 25th anniversary year.
Community Grants support programs and organizations that strengthen the community through education, human services and the arts, with a special emphasis on the needs of children, youth and families. Programs serving several area towns will receive these grants.

The foundation also promoted from within recently. At the start of the year Noreen Cannamela joined foundation staff and was recently promoted to operations manager.
“Noreen’s unique combination of skills made her a perfect addition to the foundation team and we are excited to announce her promotion to operations manager,” said Charles Boulier III, Board of Directors chairman.
For 2022, there is no change to the foundation’s grants and scholarship review schedules. Program Grant applications are now being accepted for Education, Human Service and Arts & Culture programs, including programs that serve youth during the summer.
The application for Community Grants is also open for requests of up to $5,000 for programs from throughout their 64-town service area.
Letters of Intent for Capital Grants are being accepted, with a focus on one-time capital needs essential to the delivery of core services, particularly in New Britain.
And the application is open for the Robert T. Kenney Scholarship Program. Awarded primarily based on financial need, these scholarship recognize talented, hard-working students from throughout the 64-town service area who have the potential and determination to achieve their dreams through higher education.
