CT 4th Congressional District Race: Himes Vs. Stevenson
Rep. Jim Himes is seeking an eighth term in Congress and is being challenged by former Darien First Selectman Jayme Stevenson.

CONNECTICUT — Longtime Rep. Jim Himes will face off against former Darien First Selectman Jayme Stevenson in the state's Fourth Congressional District race.
Himes was first elected to Congress in 2008 and prior to that he was a member of the Greenwich Board of Estimate and Taxation. Himes is a Rhodes scholar and earned a Master’s degree from Oxford University and his undergraduate degree from Harvard University. He raised his family in the Cos Cob section of Greenwich.

Himes wants to bring back the federal state and local taxes deduction that was signed into law by former President Donald Trump. He also supports raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour, according to his campaign biography.
Himes is also a supporter of programs that promote energy efficiency and green energy, and wants tougher gun control laws.

Jayme Stevenson (Republican, Independent)
Stevenson served as Darien first selectman for 10 years and decided not to run for re-election. Prior to that, she served as a vice president at Standard & Poor. She is married to John Stevenson and they have five adult children and two grandchildren.
Stevenson is pro-choice and wants to restore the SALT deduction that was removed under the Trump administration. She also wants to increase the domestic supply of oil. Stevenson is also a supporter of more mental health resources.
She also supports parents knowing what their children are being taught in the classroom, according to her campaign website.
