CONNECTICUT — Gov. Ned Lamont signed an executive order Friday that will prohibit bars from opening until at least Sept. 26. The order extended the ban, which went into effect in March.

Bars were to be part of the third reopening phase in Connecticut, but Lamont pushed back the phase indefinitely after several states experienced large coronavirus outbreaks linked in part to bars.

The new order gives Lamont the option to change the date. Lamont has been hesitant to open bars and has previously indicated that they likely wouldn't be opening anytime soon.
