CT News Station Names New Anchors For Morning Shows

"Our new lineup brings a rich blend of personal perspectives and experiences."

CONNECTICUT — NBC Connecticut's Taylor Kinzler, who was promoted to a weekend anchor post a couple of months ago, is on the move again, this time to co-anchor position for the station's weekday morning newscast, "NBC Connecticut Today," the station announced Wednesday.

Kinzler will join current anchor Eddie Randle and longtime meteorologist Bob Maxon on the morning program, which airs weekdays from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. Before landing the weekend role, Kinzler formerly hosted the Emmy-nominated lifestyle program "CT Live!"

The morning anchor position opened up, following the news that anchor Shannon Miller is leaving NBC Connecticut for a job with KXAS-TV in her home state of Texas.

On Facebook, Kinzler said that her first day in the new role will be May 19.

"Excited to announce I’m joining the weekday morning team as Co-Anchor of NBC Connecticut Today with Eddie Randle and Bob Maxon!" Kinzler wrote. "I’ve worked here since 2018, and the anchors who came before me are some of the best in the business. It is such a privilege to follow in their footsteps."

Kinzler is a Maryland native, and before moving to Connecticut and joining the station in 2018, she worked as a reporter and evening anchor at WABI-TV in Bangor, Maine. She is a graduate of American University with a degree in broadcast journalism and previously interned at NBC-owned WRC-TV and NBC Sports Washington.

In a related move, NBC Connecticut, also known as WVIT, announced that Abbey Carnivale will join the station in May as the new host of "CT Live!" The weekday lifestyle show airs at 11:30 a.m.

"BREAKING: I’m returning to a newsroom VERY soon!" Carnivale wrote on Facebook. "I can’t wait to take the baton from my amazing friend, Taylor Kinzler, as the new host of CT Live!!"

Carnivale most recently anchored the nightly news at Western Mass News in Springfield, Massachusetts. Her prior experience includes reporting for Spectrum News in Upstate New York and producing for ESPN’s digital and broadcast platforms.

"Our new lineup brings a rich blend of personal perspectives and experiences," Tracy Davis, NBC Connecticut’s vice president of news, said in a statement. "We’re excited to share stories that resonate with our community, unpack complex topics, and offer meaningful context on everyday financial issues—before you even step out the door each morning."
