Up To 5 Inches Of Rain, Thunderstorms Forecast In Connecticut

If you love stormy weather and gray skies for days, then you'll love this forecast for Connecticut.

CONNECTICUT — We may receive up to five inches of rain by the end of Wednesday, which could prompt flooding concerns, according to the latest forecast updates.

Thunderstorms are also possible over the next few days too. The good news is that Mother's Day looks great with plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures.

"We’ve issued First Alert Weather Days for both today and tomorrow due to expected heavy rainfall across the state," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "The key uncertainty lies in the development and exact placement of a low-pressure system that appears likely to become “cut off” from the main atmospheric steering flow. The track and strength of this cutoff low will significantly influence how long the rain lasts and how intense it becomes."

"As we see it now, rainfall totals through Wednesday could range between 3 and 5 inches, with some localized areas seeing higher amounts!" said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "This level of rainfall could lead to flooding on roadways and drainage problems in low-lying areas. We should also anticipate a rise in water levels in creeks, rivers, and streams due to all the runoff that is expected." (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
