90 Degrees Forecast, More Unsettled Weekend Weather For CT

An air quality alert has also been issued for Connecticut. Here are the latest forecast updates from today through Sunday.

There is a lot going on in the weather department for Connecticut.

"As high pressure slowly shifts offshore, we trend even warmer and muggier over the coming days. Canadian wildfire smoke will lead to a hazy sky today, but given it stays aloft we’re not anticipating impacts at ground level," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "However, an Air Quality Alert has been issued for elevated ground level ozone, for sensitive groups (those with COPD, asthma, respiratory distress, etc should plan to spend time inside and near A/C)."

"Tomorrow is a *First Alert Weather Day* as our warming trend peaks with temps reaching or exceeding 90 inland (our first 90° day of the year and our first time to hit 90 since August of last year)," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "Due to the combined heat and humidity, those in sensitive groups may need to plan time indoors, and for those working outside, remember to stay hydrated. While most of the time is dry… an isolated shower/storm can’t be ruled out during the afternoon hours (the risk is low) in advance of a cold front slowly heading our way. Coastal communities will be relatively cooler, but still warm, with highs 80-85."

More unsettled weekend weather

"Saturday, the stalled front will be the focal point for periods of rain, perhaps thunderstorms," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "How slowly/quickly it exits will dictate just how wet the 1st half of the weekend will be, especially if an area of low pressure develops along the boundary (increasing the likelihood for rain). For now, we’re forecasting showers, with perhaps some rumbles of thunder. For Sunday, we expect drier and brighter weather with decreasing humidity." (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
