Severe Thunderstorms Forecast On Friday Across Connecticut: Timeline Released
We all know about the heat and humidity but thunderstorms have also returned to Connecticut's weather forecast.
CONNECTICUT — There is a chance for "isolated severe thunderstorms" across Connecticut on Friday afternoon and evening, and the "primary threat is damaging winds," according to the National Weather Service.
Thunderstorms forecast on Friday afternoon
"Along a stalled frontal boundary draped across Southern New England, isolated to scattered showers and storms develop (especially across inland CT)," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. "Because of the threat of heavy rain and lightning to outdoor activities, we’ve declared a *First Alert Weather Day.* If the front ends up stalling farther north, then chances will be less. The Storm Prediction Center, currently, has northern areas of CT along the MA border under a Level 2 risk for the threat of strong to severe afternoon storms. The rest of the state is at Level 1, so keep an eye to the sky..."

Weekend forecast details
"Saturday appears to start dry but turn wet as a cold front moves through the region. Showers become likely by late morning, then end during the afternoon. So while not a washout, it won’t be entirely dry," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. "Temps will be cooler, seasonably so, as they peak in the low to mid-70s (this will also lead to less instability, to a lower chance for storms to develop). For Sunday, behind the front, we expect drier and relatively brighter weather with decreasing humidity." (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
