CT Weather: 'Strong' Storm To Bring 60 MPH Wind Gusts, Heavy Rain Sunday, Monday

A strong storm is forecast to have significant impacts on Connecticut. Here are the latest details on timing and what we can expect.

The National Weather Service said a "strong coastal low" is forecast to significantly impact Sunday and Monday's weather across Connecticut.

"The potential exists for widespread minor to moderate coastal flooding and beach erosion Sunday into Monday," the weather service said Wednesday evening. "Strong gusty winds in excess of 40 mph, with potential maximum wind gusts up to around 60 mph along portions of the immediate coast. Average rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is possible, with flooding NOT anticipated at this time due to a longer duration rainfall and pre-existing dry conditions."

The weather service said full impacts will depend on the track of the storm.

In northern Connecticut, the weather service said, "There is potential for a coastal system in the Sunday-Monday timeframe bringing another round of rainfall. There is still uncertainty in the track of the system, which will influence rain chances/coastal impacts."
