"Our First Alert Weather Day continues this morning, but things are improving rapidly," wrote WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "The heaviest rain is out of the state and the winds, while still gusting between 25-35mph, are not as strong as just several hours ago. We saw peak wind gusts between 50-60mph during the late evening and early morning hours. We also experienced 2-4″ of rain statewide. Given all the rain, combined with melting snow, several of our area rivers are surpassing flood stage. River Flood Warnings have been issued for the Yantic, Housatonic, Farmington, Still and Naugatuck Rivers." (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
