Tuesday during the day is expected to remain dry and warm, with increased cloudiness, WFSB and the National Weather Service predict.
The National Weather Service anticipates a high of around 80 degrees for Tuesday, with wind of about 10 miles per hour.
“It will also be a bit breezy, as a southwesterly wind picks up in advance of an approaching cold front,” WFSB reports.
Rain is expected to arrive very early on Wednesday, around 2 a.m., as the cold front moves into the state.
WFSB cautions that the rain will impact the morning commute on Wednesday morning, and precipitation should exit the state Wednesday afternoon.
“We need rain, so any amount is welcome,” WFSB reported.
The U.S. Drought Monitor shows Connecticut as being abnormally dry, with moderate drought in the southeastern section of the state.
WFSB is predicting rainfall totals of up to a half an inch, with locally higher amounts possible from Wednesday’s rainfall.
The high temperatures will hover around 68 to 70 degrees on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Sunny skies return for Thursday and Friday, but it will be much cooler, with daytime highs only in the low to mid-60s.
“Cooler than average weather takes over to end the week,” WFSB reports.
WFSB is predicting a chance for frost on Friday morning.
