Several Thunderstorm Chances Emerge For CT As Muggy Conditions Persist For Days

Here are the new details on a stormy weather forecast and when to expect thunderstorms across Connecticut.

When will it be 75 degrees under an abundance of sunshine and zero humidity?

That is more of a rhetorical question because that isn't even close to happening over the next several days. Our summer of storms and excessive humidity and heat continues.

The National Weather Service said there is a 50 percent chance of some rain showers and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon. If we do get any storms, they are not forecast to be severe.

WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said "an isolated late day shower/storm can’t be ruled out," on Friday afternoon, especially in northwestern Connecticut where there is a level one risk for severe weather potential. It will remain muggy on Friday.

"Saturday, while still muggy, will feature a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid-80s," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. "While not a washout, isolated afternoon showers appear possible (most communities remain dry). Sunday is dry and muggy. Under a mix of sun and clouds temps again peak in the mid-80s (perhaps a degree or two up, compared to Saturday). Both days expect heat index values to reach 90 or higher."

More storms forecast for Monday

"Monday looks to feature a chance for storms. Then, Tuesday is dry and features increasing sunshine with temps topping out near 90. Wednesday temperatures could be a tad hotter under a mostly sunny sky," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
