CONNECTICUT — Snow accumulation estimates are slowly on the rise for a minor snowstorm Tuesday.
What started as a general 1–3 inches of snow is now up to 2–4 inches of snow for most of the state, while Litchfield County could see up to five inches of snow, according to the latest updates from the National Weather Service.
Snow is expected to begin late Monday and continue through Tuesday afternoon. The precipitation could end as a brief period of ice. The Tuesday morning commute could be a slippery one, forecasters said.

A winter weather advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Monday until 7 p.m. Tuesday. "Snow and mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch....Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute."
Coastal sections of New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties:
A winter weather advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Tuesday. "Snow, then mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze...Plan on slippery road conditions for the morning commute, especially early. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute."
Hartford/Tolland/Windham County:
A winter weather advisory in effect from 7 p.m. Monday to 7 p.m. Tuesday. "Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute."
Litchfield County:
A winter weather advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Monday to 7 p.m. Tuesday. "Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches...Snow will spread from south to north tonight and continue through the day Tuesday before ending by Tuesday evening. Snowfall rates may reach around half of an inch per hour at times on Tuesday."
