CONNECTICUT — A winter weather advisory has now been issued for six counties across Connecticut as some light snow and ice is forecast to accumulate late Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for inland sections of Fairfield and New Haven counties, Litchfield, Hartford, Tolland, and Windham counties.

Winter weather advisory details for inland sections of Fairfield/New Haven County via the National Weather Service:
A winter weather advisory is in effect from noon Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday. "Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch....Higher elevations are expected to receive more of the wintry precipitation and are expected to receive this wintry precipitation this afternoon but coverage will likely be patchy. Otherwise, for the rest of the area with lower elevations, more of this wintry precipitation will occur tonight."

Litchfield County winter weather advisory details via the National Weather Service:
A winter weather advisory is in effect from noon Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday. "Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze....Mixed precipitation is expected to begin this afternoon and transition to light snow by tonight. Precipitation will then transition back to a wintry mix and then plain rain Wednesday morning as temperatures rise above freezing."
Hartford/Tolland/Windham County forecast details:
A winter weather advisory has now been issued for northern Connecticut until 1 p.m. Wednesday.
"Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze....Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute."
Coastal sections of southern Connecticut forecast details via the National Weather Service:
This Afternoon: Rain likely, possibly mixed with sleet. Cloudy, with a high near 38. Light west wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no sleet accumulation expected.
Tonight: A chance of rain, snow, and sleet, mainly before 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 33. Light and variable wind becoming east around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Wednesday: A slight chance of rain, snow, and sleet before 7am, then a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 39. East wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Wednesday Night: Rain likely, mainly after 1am. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 39. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for inland sections of Middlesex and New London counties until 10 a.m. Wednesday.
"Mixed precipitation. Snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of a light glaze....Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact both the evening and morning commute....Coverage of freezing rain could very well be more patchy and limited to higher elevations."
